Even after the patch update, I feel Sketch is laggy - Particularly colour picker, Typeface and weight picker, Returning to instance after editing symbol. (New rMBP, 8gb RAM, El Capitan, Document size - 5 to 6 of Artboards)
Anyone else feeling the lagginess?
It always felt laggy to me, it's not a new thing for v39.
I had the same issue recently and found the solution! The Issue is likely from Sketch autosaving copies of your files into a hidden folder on your hard drive. I know this answer is no fun, but I've found it immensely helpful to restart my computer whenever Sketch starts getting laggy. So far in v39 of Sketch, it's really done a ton to fix the problem.
Maybe something is just building up and eventually clogging the RAM? Perhaps it's the undo history, or something. Anyway, restart!
I'm finding it quicker in general. That said some symbols do slow things down a lot. For example the keyboards in the material starter template are a menace.
I've had a lot of speed issues editing basic shapes. Not in symbols. Takes for ever to refresh or move anchor points :/
It is laggy but not since 39. I get more and more frustrated while working with sketch and the reason is very simple it is buggy as hell. Instead of going for cloud and stuff they should fix these damn bugs and make it faster. Why to keep up on other plugins or competitors just make it the better. Provide APIs for developee, provide a better pen tool, drive for innovation not on copy/mimic other plugins. Adobe XD is around the corner and is pacing up, when the time is right i may switch.
I have all sorts of clipping and lag problems now. A lot slower for sure.
It's been fine for me, I've noticed some other issues, but none related to lag. I'm on an iMac 64GB RAM, Mac OS Sierra. What is in your artboards, because sometimes I've seen lag when there are super high resolution photos embedded.
Sketch started feeling really laggy for me a version or two ago. I was pulling my hair out until I realized I had recently joined the beta for the Craft plugin. As soon as I reset Craft to the release build, Sketch was flying smooth again.
So just a thought.. check your plugins and see if something is slowing it down.

I thought it was my Macbook Air at 4GB of RAM, so I didn't say anything.
Nothing noticeable. Also have 2x the RAM you do.
Slow as hell, almost unbearable to work like this :(

i also feel like its a lot slower. especially moving elements is a horror. it was never very fast but i feel like it has gotten worse.
Document size - 5 to 6 of Artboards
It's not the number of artboards it's what you do with them.
Pretty basic stuff. But generally Symbols cause some trouble. I'll look deep in to the symbols
I got exactly the same issues and i also noticed that the Craft duplicate plugin isn't working anymore as the Command + D.
It only gets laggy if you use symbols. I like the idea of the symbols, but it works shit. On one page i used like 40 and the document is almost unloadable.
Nop, I didn't notice any slowness up until now.
