Some highlights:
Beautiful Scott. You guys ever consider support Surge. They host static sites (non-HTTPS) for free.
I'm impressed, this looks friggin' awesome. I may be using this for client sites in the future.
Is it easy to setup portfolio + blog in same site? Is it easy to have full HTML (or just full CSS will be fine) ability on a single page, up from navbar to footer, so I can have unique page? Like one page will be fully black, and other page will be default white. I always have that issues with every CMS beside WordPress...
I've always wished something like this existed for Middleman. Great job!
I'm particularly excited about the prospect of having an editor for Hugo!
Bless you, Scott Gallant. This is the most beautiful thing to hit the Internet in a long time.
Is this going to be a paid service or something that can be installed and self-hosted?
Looks awesome! Excited for the docs section to arrive!
WOW. Thank you so much for this. I was waiting for something like this to come around, either for Middleman or for Jekyll, and you DID IT!
Scott.
For someone who does a lot of client work using Jekyll, this is going to be great! Cheers!
This is super impressive, and hopefully it'll provide a simpler way to use Jekyll and/or Hugo to less experienced editors
This looks like the perfect balance between doing everything in code and other management systems like siteleaf or cloudcannon. Just got into the beta and can't wait to check this out. Great work Scott!
Thanks Chris! It's designed to work with a coder's workflow too. Where forestry will watch your repo and pull in changes.
This looks really great! I've signed up for the beta and took a look to see a preview of a post; its excellent. However, my JS file isn't loading, I think your routing is serving it as an HTML file for some reason. My site is heavily JS dependent, so it breaks the functionality (in just the preview of course).
Great job!
Jason, can you email me at scott@forestry.io and I'll look into it? Thanks!
Super excited too. Currently using Siteleaf but deploying to FTP is a paid feature. Would be awesome to support locale with i18n !
Cool! Yeah Siteleaf is a great product, but we're doing a few things differently and we support Hugo (which is awesome). What localisation do you need?
Let me know what you think!
Yep, I gotta try Hugo, it looks awesome indeed. As for localization, it would be in French/English in my case.
Great, we're big fans of Hugo too! We're based in Canada so French localization is important for us too.
So excited about this! Great work!!!
