Thanks to the folks at Hotjar for sponsoring again this week. If you have any questions/feedback for the Hotjar team, please feel free to comment in the story directly.
Nah, no questions as of yet. Just a fair endorsement.
Been using their software for a bit, and it works fairly well. Enjoying the heat and scroll-maps, and we occasionally use some of the polling functionality.
I don't really see any reason why I should tell you about the drawbacks, because what Hotjar does, it does well enough. You'll still need your Google Analytics / New Relic, etc, so manage your expectations.
All in all, a solid source for some browsing data.
Awesome tool, love it a lot!
Although I’m still wondering if you're allowed to capture the user’s screen and behaviour without their permission... I mean they have no clue that they're being filmed and it's also not that anonymous.
A great tool. Using it since the day I discovered it. I currently work with the free plan—it is enough and I can handle going through the limited amount of videos. If I go unlimited I probably won't focus that much.
Big fan of the live recordings and heatmaps. They're also fast in replying to support related questions. Interesting to see where they go from here on out.
Using Hotjar for my soon to be launched app. Really love it so far. We're using the free plan right now, but upgrading seems totally worth it.
Very promising. Concerning "weird rendering issues" the register view looks weird to me (Safari 9.1.1, OS X 10.11.5) when Ghostery is activated. Bug or feature? https://insights.hotjar.com/register
Love hotjar. Perfect for finding weird rendering issues and understanding what your visitors are thinking. I think it is a must on any website. Plus its affordable unlike the other screen recording SAAS companies.
