Graphics start off nice, but that's some nasty scroll-jacking.
The graphics work here is crazy cool. Congrats to the team!
I'm less blown away by the copywriting though. I could very easily not be the target user here... but after looking at this page I don't understand why I'd want to buy this. "Routers just became retro". Who wants a retro router?
I kind of thought that too when I first read the tagline, but I think they might be trying to say after you have Plume, old existing routers become retro.
I agree that the copywriting is vague and not telling me exactly why I should get this over one router that covers my whole place well enough. Is wifi interference a real problem in households? For the minority that it is a problem, I think it can be solved easily these days with other cheap router extenders.
They say
Plume knows how to handle different types of traffic for a smooth, uninterrupted experience.
But many modems handle diff data types very well, it's not a unique feature, it's a fundamental part of what every modem does.
Wow, minus the scroll-jacking absolutely stunning.
Can anyone scroll with a mouse? I can scroll with my trackpad but if I'm using my mouse, I have to use the arrows to navigate each section...
yea it's super slow and choppy. can't wait for this trend to diiiieeeeee.
a little sluggish for me
Websites are going to start needing System Requirements like computer games soon, I feel like.
I can't run this one smoothly on my 2012 retina macbook pro.
no thx
That is a great piece of work design wise, both the typography and the background 3d video merge perfectly. The scroll-jacking could definitely be lost and maybe the typography could have used some rework but in the end the result is great.
Great job
Haters gonna hate anyway
Hmm...I think we are all agree that their 3d effect is stunning, but, the performance of scroll jacking is unarguably abysmal, at least on my decent rig (and some other commenter above) There is always reason why people dislike something, not that they just blindly hate it sir. :)
