This was actually a good laugh.
I was about to send you the link. It is hilariously written. I wish this response came about more often, instead of the DN community embarrassing themselves with seething rage.
LOL, the only person raging is Schiffles.

It's getting old.
You're right
I'm so pleased! It's always dangerous trying to use humor on the Internets.
Luckily we're on Designer News, where everyone's responses are calm and measured.
They absolutely are not, you racist.
Literally worse than Hitler.
But I'm really just commenting to say that this is, far and away, the best comment section I've seen on DN in forever-and-a-half. Gives me hope for the future of the site.
I wuv u guyz ♥
I'm so confused I don't know who to be angry at.
How about not caring and passing your way? not choosing a side is still an option. :)
You saying that between these two extremes there is a middle ground?! That sounds too grown up. ;)
I've completely lost touch with reality now... I don't understand anything anymore :)))
Sometimes Eli's posts do sound like some of the conspiracy theory blogs I love. Drawing connections between seemingly disconnected things and always with malicious undertones.
But maybe Eli is right about humanity heading to an age of over-simplified communication. Case in point, advanced alien civilizations are already using over-simplified languages.
Probs the only good response I've seen here, ever, to one of his articles.
Who's gonna write a piece about this piece tomorrow?
Clickbait
On the other hand, there was significant resentment among modernist designers and journalists who felt that Instagram had not sufficiently prostrated itself to the cathedral of modernism
Peaked at the title.
A bit mean, but hilarious and absolutey spot on! Made me lol out loud on the train.
Go forth and design things badly on purpose. For evil.
