This, in essence, is Google+ but for smaller niche groups. I see this getting a lot of use at Google I/O this week. Outside of that, hashtags on twitter already provide this role for strangers. Group texts already provide this role for friends. Slack already provides this role for businesses.

This is a product that is not solving a problem.

Except they have lots of cash to throw around for experiment, lets see how this Google+ v2 goes.

Annnnd once again they release a neat new feature that doesn't work with Google Apps accounts. Sighhh

Even with the app, it doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe it's just a staggered rollout?

I'm very curious to see how this will be marketed and I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this at I/O. This feels similar to Google+, Google Keep, Google Save, and Hangouts... I wonder how they will differentiate this as a tool--maybe they wont?

So this is like Facebook Rooms?

Definitely reminded me of Facebook Rooms in both concept and visuals (obviously more Material Design oriented though)

I love this idea, but no one I know will ever use it. Despite working in the tech industry I find I know very few early adopters or even late adopters of less widely used services. Maybe this is different on the west coast where my friends all seem to use the latest apps at least for a bit.

This is a beautiful (and functional) product launch site, really love the animations.

Do wonder how much use it'll get though, could be a Google+ kinda thing where they're going after a pretty entrenched market. Is it going to be enough to convince non tech people to leave Whatsapp or Pinterest?

Love the site, but the app is nothing new, reminds me Facebook Rooms. I think the fastest, easiest and usable way to share content, links and thoughts with people on a specific topic is Facebook Groups (and the relative app), IMHO.
