Missing List in Adobe XD (Formerly Comet)

The tool is awesome, but still needs some basic stuff for perfection.

  • Zoom tool (Not talking about the drop down, the actual tool)
  • Gradients
  • Adobe RGB
  • Symbols
  • AI or PSD export/import
  • Better pen tool controls
  • Asset transitions for prototyping.

Updates

• User needs the ability to change your default (i.e. having a 1 px stroke on every new rectangle is extremely time consuming) from Cody Iddings

• Have the ability to manage the retina canvas settings (1x in Sketch should be 1x in XD) from Cody Iddings

• Color dropper within the app should work the same as the mac default color picker. http://take.ms/HW3Mxfrom Cody Iddings

• User needs the ability to type in hex code from Cody Iddings

• User needs the ability to flip horizontal / vertical by typing in negative widths and maybe buttons like in Sketch. from Cody Iddings

• Ability for user to have a “Paragraph Rext” box is essential -- I found if you drag the type tool out, you get the Paragraph Text box. from Cody Iddings

• User should be able to aligning to artboard by selecting on an element and clicking an align tool. from Cody Iddings

• User should be able to change attributes of a text string, not change the entire thing. i.e. A hyperlink color. from Cody Iddings

• Typography: No ability to change the linespacing or individual kerning? from Cody Iddings

• It would be cool if command select should toggle between layers i.e. INDESIGN from Cody Iddings

    Import may not work, but you can copy + paste from Ai.

        We would love to hear details about any bugs you're hitting when copy-pasting from AI. Would you mind reporting them here? (If you can share the AI file that's showing the problem -- or a stripped-down copy of it -- that'd be extra helpful!)

        With regards to AI and PSD import, all of these design tools actually have very different file formats and therefore, it is hard to get everything to translate from one tool to another with perfect fidelity. With regards to copy/paste from Illustrator, there are a few things we know do not translate at the moment like bitmap images and drop shadows, but, we are working on getting this to work better.

        We are still weighing the options of full import of PSD and AI and would like to know your use cases as getting this to work has possible implications on the performance of XD.

      XD team member here... a couple of questions/responses:

      • In your video, notice that the Mac color picker's eyedropper is the one that's not working correctly -- the color doesn't match what you clicked on canvas. Once we do away with the OS default color picker (soon!), this discrepancy will go away.
      • You can type hex codes in the current color picker, it's just hard to find: go to the 2nd tab and change the dropdown to "RGB Sliders."
      • Could you say more about what "paragraph rext" means? I've never heard that term before.

    funny that there is the mention about a layer panel, which where hot discussed in the alpha pre release. my opinion you need no layers panel anymore.

    Thanks for your feedback, would you mind adding these feature requests to Adobe XD UserVoice ? That way you could be informed when the features land.

    Pretty much all of the feature requests above are in our backlog and will land throughout the year.

    It's important to highlight that this first Public Preview is a solid foundation for new features to arrive with our monthly releases moving forward. This is just the beginning of a long and fun journey.

      Hey Demian!

      I'm glad I could be able to took your attention! That was my intention at the first when prepearing this list actually. I'll be checking out your site as well but please bookmark this page and eventually, you'll get much more feedback then you think. U know, boards are always more easier to pass thoughts then forms.

      I'll keep updating the list if anyone request me to do.

      Also, comet's going to be good. I believe in it. Just a few more basic the features :/
