This is great. Has anyone dug into the Craft plugin to be able to tweak the list there? I'd love to still keep the "Male" "Female" "Both" distinction.
That is a great point Brett. :)
Juan Brooks, I dig it.
;) Hi Patrick. So I realized that the design example I used in my post actually uses your profile pic. The sketch file I used was downloaded from sketchresources.com. I hope that is ok. :) (Awkward!)
Its a great plugin, but I'm still really surprised multicultural names weren't thought of when it was originally made.
Many people from InVision were really excited about this. So my hope is it makes it in there for the next round as @brettflora also mentioned in a previous comment.
So good, Rizwan, thanks for sharing this. One thing I noticed right away is that with multicultural names you can get longer (aka design-breaking) ones than you might assume, along with being more realistic this helps flush out those issues earlier.
Thanks Todd. There are multiple benefits. Keeping the designs real by accounting for longer names instead of the length that makes our designs look great. Also, adding a bit of multiculturalism to the names so we realize that our users can be all over the world.
This is a great feature IMO. At 500px we have a very diverse user base, and usually the names of users tend to be more like "Evgeny Tchebotarev" than "Jeff Shin".
Bingo! The secondary effect is also helping the larger teams realize this point as well when they see the wireframes and designs.
Thanks for sharing your work Rizwan!
You're welcome Mike. I had the idea sitting in my head for a while and then along came Craft. Hope it is really useful for you.
Somehow I had totally missed the Craft plugin, looks pretty awesome, and thanks for putting it on my radar with this project.
Pretty awesome, thanks for sharing. We have all sorts of people in our apps so this will come in handy for many lengths and variations!
Nice work!
