My knee jerk reaction: less 'cool edgy future technology', more mature, approachable, and trustworthy. Reminds me a lot of Airbnb's rebrand.
Couldn't agree more, it presents as a very mature and intricate brand. Wonderfully executed – and that illustration work is fantastic.
agree it's most trustworthy, but swapping out the luxurious black with a white cheapens the brand a bit IMO
Perfect time to bring this back up: https://medium.com/the-wtf-economy/not-cool-uber-194198bed715#.c4k0zxyif
^ This should be above a few colour changes.
I believe this is what people in the valley call "disruption"
The brand looks great and works well. I only wish the "people first" talk was more than a branding move.
Did anyone else feel like the video was supposed to go somewhere, or did I miss something?
Clicked on the car illustration and was like:
Didn't expect that :)
I guess they're A/B testing their colors? I'm getting a nicer teal while my coworkers are getting a brighter green. Anybody else seeing this?
If you view their 'scripts.js' file, they generate a random color palette(jQuery) when users come to the page. The full palette is: orange, amber, indigo, turquoise, navy, teal, and lime. There may be more. You'd have to look at their colors.css file.
Awesome transitions. Doesn't feel forced or overdone, and that easing is killer.
