Yeah, I've been trying to find discussions I vaguely remember reading last year, and it's almost impossible. Results as subjects with an option to show results in posts, please :)

Or just have results that are subjects rather than individual posts. I just search via Google instead :)

Speaking about DN search, I prefer using google with "site:designernews.co" query, this explains how bad DN search is.

Thanks for bringing this up. Couldn't also figure out in what order results are shown (is it chronological? most relavant? nothing seems to be the case IMO).

Aside from the "quality" of results people are seeing, I think some way of sorting /filtering them would be a welcome addition. Stuff like newest-oldest or the ability to search only titles would be fantastic.

Totally agree. I know the search is powered by Swiftype and I actually talked to their lead designer who was familiar with the DN implementation. He said that DN did the bare-bones implementation of Swiftype. I think there is lots more they could do to improve this. Hopefully they will listen :)

After Andrew bought DN I worked on the design of the new and improved search, but it seems like search wasn't considered important enough by the team, so nothing changed since.

Was trying to find an article a few days ago and I just gave up. The search system could really use a facelift, or just option. I don't think searching comments is a feature that many use.

Other great option would be to mark items as favourites, so I could simply mark and find later relevant posts.
