Ask DN: Show me your website!

Possibly one of the most frequently asked questions on here, but for those of you that missed answering, or if you just want to re-share, please, do go for it.

I already shared my website here this month in its own thread, but here it is again!
I really enjoyed your portfolio the first time I saw it
Has been rather neglected over recent months..
I think I saved your resume a long time ago because it was super sick.
Thanks :). Spent quite bit of time on it. Here's a link for anyone interested
This one's a keeper!
Those flying computers are giving me anxiety.
Anxious of what?
That they're going to crash into a wall! I like your site though, bookmarked for inspiration.
EDIT: Typo, ugh.
Thank you, and thanks for clearing that up.
I've been making small tweaks to this over the past couple months. Enjoying where it's headed!
Damn, that's the best personal website I've seen in a while! Props to you!
Built with Ghost: waynekettell.com
I like it. How much can you build your own design with Ghost? Is it more like squarespace, semplice, webflow ?
I'd say it's more like Wordpress in that you can completely build your own theme or add one from the marketplace, rather than using a site builder.
I chose Ghost because it doesn't use PHP (cleaner, faster, better performance) but it's more difficult to set up because hosting and domain providers are all geared towards PHP instead of Node.js powered websites. Although that will change soon with Wordpress launching Calypso. For now, Ghost is perfect because it has a CMS to quickly add posts but I also keep the control and performance like a static website.
Hope that helps.
http://w-v.co (2014) --> Going to do a much needed redesign S/S16.
Absolutely love your 2014 website!
Still updating and adding projects, but here is mine: www.braygray.com
It's a little cumbersome to update atm, so I'm working on a revamp for the new year!
This is my fourth edition of my photografy website: http://www.jonaskroyer.dk
Hey, here is mine http://www.lanbelic.com
Just a month old: www.alveriacher.com
Due for an update: chrisbalin.com
Rockin' the simplicity for now: http://nicholasburroughs.com/
Just rebuild mine. Portfolio
My personal website and blog: https://anselmurban.de/
Made with Semplice.
Just redid mine a couple of weeks ago. Stripped it way down to simple colours and layout.
Still working on this, but please let me know what you think!
This is mine : SaijoGeorge.com
Almost a year old now: https://www.dreist.at/
Don't judge me, I'm a full-stack developer. Performance comes first.
Do you import your projects at the code section from github? I'm building my current portfolio where it also uses the github api to import. But because I'm a designer I have no idea what I could do to have quicker load times
Yes, I cheat and use JSONP. I pull the Github API endpoint down (async'd) and the callback fires a function declared prior, which receives the data, builds the repo elements and adds them to a container at once.
<div id="github"></div> <script> function loadrepos(results){ "use strict"; if ( results.data.length > 0 ) { for ( var i = results.data.length; i-- ) { var repo_url = results.data[i].homepage ? results.data[i].homepage : results.data[i].html_url, repo_name = results.data[i].name, repo_desc = results.data[i].description, repo_lang = results.data[i].language, repo_container = document.getElementById("github"), el = document.createElement("div"), // each repo will be in one of these el_link = document.createElement("a"), // a link will wrap the title, description and language el_title = document.createElement("h4"), // title el_desc = document.createElement("p"), // description el_lang = document.createElement("p"); // language el_link.href = repo_url; el_link.title = repo_name; el_title.textContent = repo_name; // use textContent because it's faster than .innerHTML el_desc.textContent = repo_desc; el_lang.textContent = repo_lang; el_link.appendChild(el_title); el_link.appendChild(el_desc); el_link.appendChild(el_lang); el.appendChild(el_link); repo_container.appendChild(el); } } else { console.log('Github is down'); } } </script> <script async defer src="https://api.github.com/users/wnda/repos?callback=loadrepos"></script>
JSONP is technically more efficient and it's easier to work with!
Wow, so clean and readable. Way better than the solution I had. Github is it ok if I base my code on your solution?
Of course, go for it, it's on Github anyway you don't need my permission. :)
Still a WIP chrisvasey.com
Bit of a teaser... http://zzzach.com
I really dig your icon.
Thanks!
pretty simplistic, but www.siebevd.be
What the hell:
Alright, here's mine:
And because people sometimes miss hear "o m g m o g", I also have http://omgemoji.net
Very simple one: http://byndapp.com, but we are working on a re-design! :)
vincentorback.se 2 years old, still working fine today :)
