Good day designers of the world!

A few months ago I launched Noema on the iOS Appstore and forgot about it. It's an app where users share stories and ideas in their own voice. The objective was to create a visually simple app which keeps the focus on the audio. Months later it has a couple hundred users, very few of them actually use it.

Now I finally have the time to sit down and polish it up again and solve all the design/UX problems I've learnt about. Constructive feedback very welcome.

Glad you think that. Any suggestions on how can improve the actual product? How can I use the design better to get people to use it more often? How was the walkthrough?

Yo man, this is great! The idea of listening random people thoughts is cool, but I'd like something exactly like this but with my friends! Again, epic job!

Thank you man! :) Happy to hear. As a starting point it's really hard to offer an experience with just your friends because then we have to get enough users to join for it to work. What do you think about a voiced base app with product hunt/ designer news styled rating system?

No. Just saw. Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

It still serves a different purpose than Noema. Think us more as voice based quick TED/Big Think type ideas which everyone can upload and listen to rather than a communication tool between friends. What do you think about that?

    Hey Asad,

Nice to see a familiar face here on Designer News.

I don't have anything to add to the discussion, as I honestly didn't use Noema after launching it a couple of times. The first time, I remember I was stuck at the circular-loader-with-a-moving-bump-along-the-perimeter. I didn't immediately get what I was supposed to tap or what gesture to use to move forward.

      Awais,

Good to see you here too! I'm sorry your first experience had to be like that. That was totally a design flaw from my end. What actually happens it, the app plays the intro during that time and it teaches you how to use. But if your phone's audio is turned off it would seem like nothing's happening and it's stuck.

Loads to improve but for now I'm looking at Noema as more of an experiment than a startup. Experimenting with web as well.
