Joking apart, yesterday's post had a lot of comments and links that denounced a communication problem. It's weird that all of a sudden there's this version 2 completely ready, without knowing anything about it before.

It's a nice surprise, I'll check this new version, but I hope the communication issue gets resolved so this tool, its community and communication with the dev team don't feel 'dead' as reported just one day ago.

Agreed. There was (is) definitely a lack of communication on the Pixate forums between users and staff, and I am not at all surprised that anyone assumed the product was dead.

          Hi Louie,

I’m Cody and I run support and the community. I try really hard to be responsive (you can see how often I post here: http://community.pixate.com/users/cody_pixate/activity), but I’d be interested to get feedback if you feel we aren't being supportive enough in the community forum,

If you’re not referring to the frequency of our posting, are you pointing to us not giving release dates or ETAs on feature requests or releases? As far as I know, most companies don’t share that information as it sets an expectation that may or may not be met depending on circumstances.

I do want to thank you for the support you have for Pixate, as I believe, if you didn’t care, you wouldn’t post. If there is something I missed, please let me know.

Thanks for posting this. We were definitely watching the thread about Pixate being dead, but wanted to just get the release out rather than post another "coming soon" response. :)

In addition to spending a lot of time rewriting the data layer in Studio so it's way faster, we've also been spending a lot of time integrating into Google policies and systems. These aren't updates we would send to the community, so the silence can be understandingly frustrating, but all of the work we did is very worthwhile and of huge benefit to user's security and privacy.

We hope you like the release!

Thanks Andrew, I've just fired up Pixate and I've received the update... excited to work with this tomorrow! As someone else mentioned here, the "dead thread" only emerged because of this radio silence for such a long time. I noticed you guys are good at posting tutorials, write-ups etc. Based on the community response this week, do you have plans to keep the community in the loop for any future updates?

We definitely plan on engaging with the community a lot more often with tutorials and blog posts, but unfortunately we can't really offer any insights into upcoming releases.

Beat me to it. I find this extremely ironic considering the recent discussions about Pixate! Look forward to seeing more frequent updates in future :D

Phew, it’s nice to see that Pixate is finally getting som updates. But the recent discussions clearly shows that it’s always a good idea to keep the community up to date.
