Why UI designers won't be unemployed soon (medium.com)

How about people stop debating via clickbait Medium articles whether or not designers are going to be unemployed and focus on making good products instead?
You can do both Aaron. It's healthy to use our brains for different subjects in life.
Writing and debating about proper usability conventions or different frameworks is one thing and produces healthy debate and outcomes that are beneficial to both parties.
Debating whether or not people in our industry will still be employed by trying to look into a crystal ball and make predictions benefits no one.
There are so many important issues where design thinking can be used to gain new insights, responding to authoritative sounding subjective clickbait articles on Medium isn't one of them.
I've personally given up reading these. A lot of them are poorly written, substanceless pieces debating over pointless arguments.
The fact that the writer didn't spellcheck or edit this piece in any way is actually pretty disrespectful to his audience.
I honestly thought it was going to satirical... So disappointed it wasn't...
Also, this kid Ariel obviously already had his ass handed to him over the original post, why write a whole medium article to debate it? Its not like he is fooling anyone to begin with... Everyone who has an ounce of self confidence and experience is just going to laugh and get on with their lives anyways.
We should be talking about stuff like how to really get to the heart of problems we are trying to solve, how do you communicate value prop effectively etc... not this fear mongering BS.
In the same vein, I heard that web design was dead a couple of times last month.
Which, clearly isn't true. There will always be people needing some sort of design, especially web.
I think he's being sarcastic.
We've got to do something about this imposter syndrome problem.
Cookie cutter flat UI/UX design for tech-bro SV/SF startups isn't the be all and end all of design.
Yay, Was waiting for it <3
If any UI designers thought they're gonna be unemployed after reading my article, sorry for them. The whole point was the need for close minded UI designers to become smarter and expand their skills. If I would have written it as "UI designers should learn more things" it would've been boring as hell, so I wrote it as a wake up call which apparently was effective.
Good job, Santiago. It's actually a nice read, and even if you think I'm an idiot (you mentioned my name 8 times in your article), we actually agree on most things.
The clickbait claim by Aaron D is correct, I'll try to avoid it next time, although the results of it are so much better.
If the UI designers that you're working with need 'a wake up call' then you're working with the wrong people
I guess the many people who shared it needed it. I see nothing wrong with a "wake up the world is moving fast" message if it makes you more inspired.
Ariel, thanks for the kind comment, and let me tell you I under any circumstances think you are an idiot. I mentioned you many times for the sole purpose of argumentation. I intended to debate your points of view by quoting you and refuting your ideas.
It's good to know your intentions with your article were noble.
And yea, the clickbait title is kind of cheap... Haha I kind of regret it now.
Kind regards!

Why should they be unemployed?
Read the article my friend! It's a debate, check the article's subtitle.
