I have been on the fence with Wordpress for a very long time, debating if I should get into it with all the negative press surrounding it's codebase; and it's ubiquity amongst the web. Now I am going all-in! THIS LOOKS AWESOME!!

I wanted to make an app like this for years (since 2009) but I don't think it was really much possible until a year and a half ago (or so). What they've done is really nice. And, I'm sure others will follow suit (Squarespace, Adobe, etc).

The important news here is bye bye to PHP and MySQL and hello Node.js and React!

I love that they have taken this approach and are putting more effort into the API.

I can see Wordpress becoming a global datastore for the worlds digital content. Developers and applications can then consume and use that content in various ways via their API (e.g. Wordpress.com).

Oh man, I was just thinking last week about how I could use the REST api to create a smoother dashboard experience... well, here we are.
