    I like the simple approach taken here, however this is really a use case for SVG similar to Google Chart's implementation. Using SVG give you the ability to provide much more information to the chart paths for accessibility.

      Yes, SVG it's a excellent way to present charts. And it has many possibilities. I intend to study more of SVG... both for charts and for the animation.
