It's not really clear from the site, but this app actually builds Framer prototypes. Pretty cool.
Although some parts of the site are a little over-inspired from the Framer site if you ask me, but hey.
Also heads up: the app doesn't validate on El Capitan for me. You should check the signing with spctl and see what's up to avoid the "Unidentified Developer" dialog.
Was exactly my first impression. Same concepts, etc. Strange they kinda hid the fact.
To be honest, I always thought you guys at Framer would eventually make something like this for the non-coding minds out there. (In another hand, I admit that all those great features from Framer, made me learn to code more quickly so I could use it comfortably)
Yeah, it’s not clear from the website at all that it’s built on top of Framer. We were definitely thinking about mentioning it on the landing page at first but then we rather decided to write the whole blog post about it later (in which we want to explain how we built it, what helped us etc.) It seemed like a better idea than just piggy back on Framer mentioning it on the landing page.
In general, Framer is a huge inspiration for us and we probably wouldn’t be able to build Floid without it (or definitely not in 4 months).
Also thanks for the heads up!

Right click on the .app -> Open -> Open. The system will sign the binary for you ;)
Interesting that it’s made using Electron. Looks like a nice tool!
I'm not a Windows user, but I think the upcoming Windows support might be one of things that should be better advertised. There are dozens of UI animation/prototyping tools with few supporting Windows to my knowledge.
Agreed...sad how things have gone the opposite direction regarding cross-platform compatibility.
Yey, another UX tool. Has anyone tested all of them and adopted at least one in their workflow?
I've tested Principle since couple months and I'm going with it. Just got into it with advanced functionalities and it looks so powerful. Don't wanna start another learning curve for now.
Just did a quick test and the utility is missing the basics of edge snapping and alignment guides. Not a big deal I guess if you're working with imported design assets. But if you're looking for something to whip up quick prototypes to test concepts, that snapping nice-to-have will be sorely missed.
Thanks for testing it!
Yeah, you're spot on. We have it in our backlog and will be implementing it as soon as possible.
Differences between other countless tools?
The biggest difference is that we use combined approach of the tools that are on the market right now meaning - we are combining single layer animations together with screens. This means you can easily switch back and forth between animation groups as well as create tiny independent interactions.
Thanks, sounds interesting.
Has anyone successfully used this or a similar app to create animated previews / prototypes? I can see something like this being a little easier to use than After Effects for creating simple recordings.
Have you tried Pixate or Principle? Both are similar solutions to the same problem.
I have not, but I'll check them out. Thanks!
does it do responsive prototypes? Still hanging out for a good responsive option.
Looks like a nice tool to complement Framer Studio. It would be very convenient if you could export out in such a way that I could open it in Framer Studio. A visual tool to setup the simple functionality.
The website is broke in Safari at the moment.
It's a shame they've copied Framer Studio in so many aspects. Compare their site with Framer's site and you'll see what I mean. Similar layouts, using the same examples, etc. It's not like the market was desperately missing a tool like this and they needed to hurry it out the door. Take some time to come up with your own approach..
Not being able to easily select and grab groups is the dealbreaker. Got frustrated after five minutes of this thing selecting always the bottom layer of the group instead of the entire group.
This is simply pure nature beauty!
Going to break but this is just one of the dues me 10 like to braid my hair do you anything else other protected herself 0 avenues that we’ve in a long time I have no intention of doing that through it yes stay away from here we have because I’m a yeah even though I do this work it she is just the heat when Texas it gets super hot I don’t need that right now even as brief to have them up because it’s hot right. http://www.idolizeadvancedeyeserumfacts.com/neuology-sny-ake/
