Sketch Color Palette Plugin

I just finished a plugin for Sketch which allows you to save and load colors into the color picker. Check it out:

It grabs the colors from the Document Colors section of the color picker and saves them as a .sketchpalette file, which you can then share with other people that have the plugin. Loading the palette file replaces the colors in the Document Colors section of the color picker for the current document. There is also a command to just clear out all of the Document Colors.

      Ok, it's now in that plugin directory and in Sketch Toolbox. I'd seen that list, but I didn't realize that's where Sketch Toolbox pulled from. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  I hadn't thought about that yet. But it would be quite handy. Ase files are a lot different than the simple palette format I created. So it definitely wouldn't be trivial. But it looks like other people have had success decoding adobe ase files, so I think it could be doable.

  So, I couldn't resist attempting this immediately after your comment. I wasn't able to get it working in the plugin yet, but I spent a few hours looking into it, and was able to cobble together an in-browser utility to convert .ase files to the .sketchpalette format used in my plugin. It works for me, but it's pretty hacky, so your mileage may vary. I'll see if I can get it to a point where it can be rolled into the main plugin.

This looks great! Is there a way to have a label for each color?

Sometimes it is hard to distinguish subtle colors from the small preview, so having a name associated with it would be super helpful! Right now I've tried using the System Color picker by accessing View -> Show Colors, but it is pretty buggy in Sketch (Colors not applying or only applying after you move something 1px)

  Yeah, I tried using the OS X color picker method too, but ran into similar buggy issues, and it was just less convenient than having it in Sketch.
  I'd love to have labels for colors like you mocked up too. That would involve somehow changing the UI of Sketch itself. I haven't seen any other plugins that do this, but if it's possible, I definitely think it would be a great addition.

This is great! Now I have good reason to organize my colour palette! The only thing missing now is being able to label/name my colours :p

Hey Andrew - I'm over at Match.com!
I'm actually working on a proposal to switch us from Adobe to Sketch + Zeplin + InVision. Dropping adobe entirely obviously isn't preferable, but the only way I'm adding any software is if we cut other software costs. I'm thinking we'd grab Affinity Photo to bridge the photo editting gap. What are your thoughts?

  A bunch of people on our team have adopted Sketch, and it's been great. We still use Adobe products for some things, like photo editing and complex illustrations, but Sketch is the primary tool for interface design.
