I read your projects as a timeline, but was confused if that was the correct way to view them. It implies the past and possibly outdated projects.
I'm also a little confused why your portfolio site is different than this page. Why not make them cohesive? Right now your landing page feels like a glorified about.me page.
There's no date on the items so I don't know why you thought that? The reason they're separated is that I'm in the process of shifting content round, which will end up in me closing that old portfolio site down. This will replace it.

It looks very much like a vertical timeline and other sites like Facebook and Google Maps use this style as well.
So if you thought they were in some sort of order, how would that have changed your way of viewing them? For all you know those projects could be in time order. Doesn't matter what order they are in, they are still items of viewable content.
Edit: would a simple heading change things?
It's the dots and lines, I immediately associate those with a timeline. There are certainly various ways to layout projects and I can see that you're trying to do something different.
Thank you for being constructive and taking the time to give feedback. After some consideration I think I can solve the problems you have pointed out:
Nice one David!
Already mentioned but I think the only confusing part is the lack of heading for projects, but, that's only because you're starting with Portfolio & Blog project. I kind of assumed it was some kind of navigation within the darn.es site.
I like it overall though, nice and clean :). I see you updated the 404 page slightly too…
Thanks Mike! Hopefully the simple addition of a heading will solve it. Plus I'll remove my portfolio & blog from the list, that's something that should be linked in my personal description as it's personal to me, rather than a project piece.
Heh, there's a few easter eggs in the 404 page, hopefully people will enjoy it :)
After taking into account the feedback from @Miguel and @Simon (see parallel comments) I've come up with some suggested changes.
I like it, although do partly agree with the timeline sentiment.
I'm also not sure about the hierarchy. You've got a link to your portfolio, then a portfolio item below it, followed by a podcast link. I'm assuming the list contains your key featured projects (both portfolio items and others), but how it's presented might confuse some people.
Edit: Didn't read the other comment thread, woops.
Thanks Simon. I think removing my personal site from the list and adding an appropriate heading will help quite a bit (as mentioned in this comment). Maybe the title 'Latest Projects' might help? I'll be removing the porfolio item as it's really duplicate content.
Thanks for taking the time to give feedback :)
Edit: No worries!
Haha, thanks Craig!
I used a few interesting techniques on this project. For example there's only one image on the site, everything else is styling or an SVG.
Happy to discuss methods and feedback!
