Yikes. That icon is like Microsoft Office 2007 and a Trivial Pursuit game piece. And that type. Why the different midline height in the top and bottom E's?

edit: my comment came before the comment on that site noting the exact same MS and Trivial Pursuit similarity.

This is probably one of the worst directional shift in a long time. This is something from the mid-90s when illustrator became used in the mainstream and designers were still learning what is possible with vector shapes. Extremely out of date, odd design choices and no one seemed to check if it was still legible as a mark at 30px, because it's a mess at that size on their site.

That's not very good. Agreed on the trivial pursuit angle...

I'm not even in design, but as a professional recruiter who uses careerbuilder I was thrown off by an email thinking it was spam b/c there was NO communication about the change. I looked at the logo and shook my head and thought, WTF? So surprised I searched google for anything that might explain this train wreck, bringing me here where its obvious I'm not alone...still shaking my head thinking....:|

Seems like, branding and design is not important to CareerBuilder's core value. Such a same.
