Cool project! I like what you did. Hopefully LI doesn't come after you for scraping them. Haha
Shhhh! I could implement it using their API, but this way was easy to jump straight in.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. You can't access the data you scraped without a special LinkedIn partnership. The basic profile portion of the API doesn't provide much at all.
Yeah that's right, hence why this way was easier. I could always go down that road if I wanted to make more out of this, but it was really just for fun / to experiement. Also, thanks by the way!
This is pretty cool. Just did my resume.
Python?
A wild guess says yes to it being a Python scraper. Lol
It's Ruby (Sinatra) – Here's the repo.
Nice! Just a quick bug report: When you select "Centered" layout, the Hide/Show profile pic toggle doesn't do anything.
Good work man.
Cheers, I'll look into that.
That issue should be resolved now! :)
Would be killer if I bothered updating my linked in. haha. nice job man.
This is great, I would charge for extra features (if legal)
The experience is nice, but when I was choosing a heading font, the CV body also ended up using the heading font instead of the body font, so it was very difficult to find a font combination I liked.
