Ask: What project mgt software do you use?

over 7 years ago from , Senior designer

It's a little frustrating using approx. 3-5 software tools to schedule time, track progress, create reports, weekly workflows etc.

Is there anything out there that does it all? Please help...

I dunno about you, but it seems easier/better in the long run to roll out your own solution. I'm currently working on one, based on Nemex. Every other one I've found and/or used was always missing something, or had a bunch of stuff I didn't need.

I've used about 5 different project managment tools and you're right, they all miss something.

Wish we had the time to create our own, but if we were to do that we'd become a company that sells project management software. ha ha!

I'll keep looking for the tool we want/need for now.

Haha, I understand wholeheartedly. The only thing I can suggest is seeing if your company wants to institute a company-wide Friday project day. That is to say, on Fridays, everyone can work on non-client work. That will allow you guys to work on tools that fit you better. Overtime, it will get polished and then you can sell a side project.

This reminds me of this comic XKCD Standards
