    lmfao at "tightly integrated PM/Design team"... That is just another way of saying that the designers just do as the PM's tell them to.

    I would be very interested to know why Yelp's mobile app contains what is obviously so much legacy UI code. It still looks designed for iOS 6, and there's been no real rethink of the app in a long, long time. It's as if they feel that the app's user experience was cemented a couple years ago, and there's been no real evolution since then.

    I find it hard to believe Yelp doesn't have world class designers over there, so this is clearly either executive or upper-management driven decision making.

    I would be terrified as a designer to work for Yelp. I imagine there are a ton of thrown away mockups and designs that are clearly superior but get bogged down in corporate bureaucracy and never executed.
