Amazing new landing for Pixate (pixate.com)

I don't usually write long responses like this, but I love Pixate and I really feel like this landing page isn't doing this incredible software justice.
I like the overall aesthetic, but there's a bunch not right with the purple background section.
At a narrow screen width the imac becomes so small that the product screens/animations become illegible. The Pixate software looks so good, why shove it inside this tiny container? Why not take the the whole width and show some screens in all their glory? We know software works on computers, we don't need to see it constrained within a physical device all the time.
The way the screens animate into the imac feels too springy.
Although I'm sure the gradient is necessary to be able to read the text, it just feels heavy and out of place. It also obscures the product image.
The text animates in and out so quickly, I scrolled right by it and then had to have a couple goes at getting it to the right spot so I could read the text.
I feel like that section could easily be replaced by something static, with a simple layout and a thoughtful approach to presenting the content.
Love Pixate. Rock on.
Seems a bit glitchy for me on Chrome for Mac 43. Things were flashing all over the screen. For example the purpley background section was flickering heavily as I scrolled.
Same glitchy behavior in Safari 8. Also, seeing Vladimir Putin in YND demo is kinda irritating.
We've since switched out Putin, but not before we made the video. We'll see if we can update - sorry about that. :)
Same for me in Safari. The header didn't load for like few seconds and the scrolling was a little janky too.
We've made a few updates to improve performance, but we'll take another look. Thanks for the feedback Paul!
Except you can't read the text they overlay on that animated background
Hey Adam, thanks for the feedback. We're still working on balancing readability with the ability to see the animations beneath (and also have a few other ideas we're playing with).
I love your new Landing page, however, I liked the old one. the preview of the product was amazing to understand how Pixate is amazingly simple and powerfull.
Also, why the camera is turned on (on the apple display)?
Turned it off for ya :)
Love the blobby animation on screen and footer. Good job.
But, don't forget to add a favicon.ico :)
Makes me feel a little uneasy to be honest. Things flying everywhere, I don't feel in control of the scrolling, the flashing backgrounds etc. A bit over designed for my tastes, actually puts me off learning more about the product.
I think web animations are getting a bit out of hand, especially when it comes to scrolling; there's too many variables to depend on (e.g. scroll speed, input device) to create a consistent experience for each person.
Don't get me wrong, but what amazing is here?
Seriously, few devices on top, video background below and some weird effect below video.
Stuff like that we are seeing each day hundred times.
Nice and clean, nice copy, clearly communicates point. Also, hella dope parallax fx. This shit is tight.
Looks good, but the performance is not. This is on cable, on 3g is much worse.
This looks amazing on my desktop but it crashes the page in Safari on my iPad 4. Performance on desktop is reasonable, but I'd have thought a quad core + gtx970 would perform better on a webpage xD nice design guys!
Really buggy here…
Again this link?
Horizontal scroll is there in Safari - Yosemite.
