Hi everyone!
I'm from Intrepid Pursuits, and we've just released Qup for iOS! Qup is an easy way to create instant collaborative playlists that your nearby friends can add songs to.
Here's how it works: one person connects to a speaker and logs in with Spotify (the "qupholder"), while the rest of the people nearby can join and add any Spotify track, no account or setup needed.
Would love to get some feedback from you guys, and would be glad to answer any questions about it.
Thanks!
Guilherme,
Let me just say that I was very happy/sad to see this post: this idea has been bouncing around my head for awhile now and I wish I had got off my ass and built it already. That being said, props to you guys & girls for creating it! I'm very excited to see it in action and plan to use it tonight.
I'd love to pick your brain over some of the design and implementation decisions your team made. Please let me know if this is something you'd be interested in. If not, good luck and thanks for the great app!
Alex
Thanks Alex,
The idea for this app came internally a while ago as well, and when iOS 7 came out with the iBeacons technology, we saw the opportunity to do it.
We're definitely interested in explaining any design decisions, please send your questions :)
Thanks!
Dude, how cool! My first two thoughts were:
Thanks James!
Just one minor issue I had so far: When choosing "Share this app" via message from the settings it gives me following text: "Try Qup! http://intrepid.io/". This led to a bit of confusion as it just points to your website and not the actual app.
It should have linked out to the App Store page. We will add that for a bug fix release.
Thanks for pointing that our Julian! (and thanks for sharing our app!)
I hope I'm at a party where a fistfight breaks out because someone keeps Qup'ing 'We Like to Party' by the Venga Boys.
Using it half an hour now and it is awesome. Really easy and convenient. I will suggest using this, next time I am in the office.
I had the exact same idea for an app! Happy to see someone built it. Good luck to you!
Nicely done, from your Twine building neighbor! :)
