We've just set up some new computers and the thought of spending lunch time trying to get them synced up is pretty grim. Are there any decent solutions?
Dropbox. I've set a folder Fonts with another one inside called Installed Fonts. When downloading a font I drop it into Fonts folder and only move it to Installed Fonts after installing it in all my machines.
+1 to that. Dropbox's been really great for this!
Went this route, left it to sync and went for a burrito. I love it when a plan comes together.

Failing that, use something like FontXplorer or Suitcase Fusion and set the font folder to somewhere on DropBox
I'd recommend a font manager rather than anything built in the os
