The answer to the question should have been: Why not.
It's kinda hilarious the concern was over manipulating photos when people had been doing that for decades in the darkroom before photoshop.
YOU CAN EVEN MAKE A NEGATIVE. IT'S SO CONVINCING.

Thanks for the flashback. This is so interesting for so many reasons, not least of which is the apparent horror at a technology that is now so omnipresent in our world of design.
