subtle as a sledgehammer.
None of these feel "instant" :/
Yeah I felt same but it might feel okay on mobile because user will see animation after moving his finger from the button.
If I can hop up on a high horse for a second...
Subtlety in design shouldn't be taken lightly. Subtlety means that there's something about an interface that makes you like to use it, but you aren't sure what. Or maybe you realize it on the eighth time you use it, and it makes you smile. Designers who imitate trends don't understand subtlety - designers who start trends do.

I really enjoyed Stana and Simo.
Simo reminds me of a previous Codrops article where a rounded button would change into a circular progress meter when clicked and then into a success/failure indicator after the action completed.
