My first app – new colorful converter

over 8 years ago from , Head of Design at Netology-group

Hello, my name is Mikhail Melanin @mikemockup. Together with my friend, Artyom Keydunov @keydunov, we made our first app - an amusing unit converter Inché.

The app contains the primary units of measurement. The illusion of navigation is created by color change. The app is completely free and has no ads.

    The design is lovely!

I would suggest changing it to "Conversion, without the type" or "Convert. Don't Type." Change the word "Colourfulness" to "Colourful".

Also "Colour as navigation" is a bit vague and a little confusing.

Finally, the Pareto principle sounds clever, but I need to Google it to find out what it is - perhaps you could use an adjective to clarify, i.e. innovative, or powerful.

Awesome idea man, and a cool execution! Love how the numbers round up evenly dependant on the value adjusted, and I especially love the background colour changes, and its persistency throughout the app!

May I offer a few suggestions? It would be great to have the ability to convert more than the set out formulas, ie. how many inches in a meter? etc. The interface could still be really simple, but allow people to swipe sideways to switch units of measurement as well as up and down for the units.

Also, another nice touch would be moving the measurements if your finger gets into close proximity of them, you swipe to the top, they move down to the middle so you can still see it under your thumb!

Really nice design here, especially like the use of colour.

I'd agree with what has been said previously. May be best just to say "Most Common Units", instead of referencing the Pareto Principle.

All in all though, great job.

It's nice ! I like it. My only complaint would be... the first thing I did was checking out my own weight but I'm too fat for this app ahahah

Oh ! I'm only 70 kg. I didn't understand you could bring the cursor up and then above that. Btw this app is very useful to me, being form europe and I like this method of input a lot.

Nice idea but I'd like to use this for cooking for example and the the limited range makes it impossible
