Time to share your inspiration....
Most of the time I just head to Pttrns to see what's new http://www.pttrns.com/
I think Robin has a good eye for design and keeps the site regularly updated so it's a good one stop shop
My top picks at the moment are:
Rdio Citymapper Musixmatch Secret Airbnb
Agreed, Pttrns is great.
+1 for pttrns. My go to whenever I need to prototype a new app.
there are more updated screens on http://beta.pttrns.com/
Considering who you had working on it, it could not turn out anyway else than great ;)
Couldn't agree more, the amount of hours that have been put into making this app is ridiculous.
I totally agree :)
The folding effect feels great
Not very ergonomic, I'm afraid. Browsing articles by swiping right-to-left on the bottom 1/3rd of the screen isn't as comfortable as a full-screen vertical swipe.
Joint pain after 5 minutes is a dealbreaker for a daily use app.
I love Inbox by Gmail
Foursquare looks insane on the surface but actually does a great job of handling copious amounts of information.
NoteDash is a genius little piece of product design you'd have thought Apple would have thought of themselves.
Pocket is a favorite for simplicity.
Shameless plug for My Bus SF, too, just for the basic but refined functionality. Caveat: we haven't had time to switch it to iPhone 6 and 6+ yet, sorry :-(
+1 for Inbox.
Rdio for me, not only because of the beauty of the interactions and the visuals, but because it was iOS7/8 in feel before either came out. The designer there was prescient. It's inspired me for years and continues to do so today.
Timeline is great imo
OpenTable is my personal favorite.
Personally, I really like the design for Airbnb and Swarm apps.
Airbnb is ace.
Shameless plug: RadPad
Apps I love:
Love the UI for Radpad, great work!
Beautifully designed apps that I use on the reg:
I quite love the playfulness of Two Dots level select screen. http://weplaydots.com/twodots/
I'll try to list ones that haven't been mentioned here:
- Jawbone Up
My favorites at the moment are:
and SeatGeek (shameless plug)
There are so many good apps out there, but one app I have been liking a lot lately is Robinhood.
Love the ability to login with Touch ID, their visual design, Account Overview page, ability to buy stocks with ease, and other great features
If you haven't seen Kickstarter's new iOS app, you should check it out. Simple, colorful, and full of UI goodness :) https://www.kickstarter.com/mobile
Shameless plug: mySalah
My favorites are, - Overcast - Tweetbot - Chrome (new Material Design)
My personal favs: VSCO Cam, Airbnb, Storehouse (iPad version), Twitter, Vesper
I find VSCO Cam to have a horrible case of "mystery meat" navigation
Perhaps so. But in this case I was more pointing at their visual style. To me that is really well designed. Personally, I find VSCO great for quickly capturing and editing my shots + their iPad app is beautiful although I rarely use it.
Being pretty is a fraction of good design.
Not arguing. As a matter of fact there are many fractions to good design to consider. It's a fairly open question and you're totally missing my point :) What are your top picks btw?
I keep a collection here -> http://www.apparchiv.es
Still got a lot of apps to add though :P
National Parks by National Geographic and the default Weather apps are my personal favorites.
Ones I use regularly:
- Comic Zeal
- Papers 3
