Somebody help them pls.
I'm quite fond of this idea. The connection to Jupiter's moon is more fun than input/output.
My favorite as well!
Maybe, but think of all the ways a OSS logo has to be used. The best ones feature one element that others can co-opt in dependencies, swag, etc. Ember's got that hamster, Rails has rails, React's got an atom, Node has the green hexagon.
This thing has got 1) a hexagon 2) a sausage 3) Jupiter 4) the moon Io 5) The swoosh.
Have to agree. That's a pretty spiffy looking logo with an interesting direction. Will definitely be curious what comes out as the final logo.
Some of them are good, but most are plain wacky!
Could turn into the ultimate design-by-committee.
my thought exactly.
Started out really excited, ended kind of exhausted. That said, I think it'd be really cool if a bunch of designers got on this. We don't contribute nearly enough to open source.
the horror... the horror...
Anyone on D.News try to help them? I didn't see anything too great on there so I threw in a quick prototype here because I couldn't sleep.

This is really really cool. in fact it's the coolest.
Interesting how after they get on a roll of great concepts someone comes in and drops a big duce in the pool.
my vote goes to
I hope that eventually the close the issue and open up the design to competition. Didn't the redesign of rubgems.org get done this way? They got a good outcome.
This reminds me of the Apache logo contests for some of their projects.
Wow some of them are actually really good
