I think skin colour for the finger is bit important (oct first version) It's the only identifier that the character is a finger and not a general tube like shape. maybe a sock or puppet or worm
Also the colour contrast is much better in that. background blue can be tweaked a little but the finger stands out instead of blue on blue.
Thanks for the thorough input and color wheel example. I do agree that it's important that it looks like a finger. So we'll consider that for future updates.
I was into the skin colored finger I thought that was great, the blue one seems to be lacking contrast and liveliness,
I liked the pink finger more! It looks more like a finger.
Thanks for the input!
Runway left: 96 days
Now that's interesting.
Thank you. What figured that it's much better to tell people about all our struggles now, rather than do it afterwards, no matter how this ends. Not only will we be able to describe our challenges better, but we'll also be able to reach out to our readers and ask for help if we need it.
Plus, I wish there were more openness around these things. Ask a founder with two months of runway left how his company is doing and he'll always answer "Great". What happened to the honesty?
Hope you'll follow the diary :)
Was the decision to make it more mainstream or to try to stick out on the home screen?
Our goal has been to make is stylish but still stick out in the App Store.
As you see, we decided to stick with the face early on, as it represents our app in a good way, and also sticks out amongst other apps in the music category.
We don't really consider sticking out on the iPad home screen as a retention mechanism, so that hasn't been very important to us.
Thanks for posting this! If anybody have any questions, feel free to ask here, and I'll answer :)
