I feel the need to shower ever time I visit that site.
I use it to post management quotes from Harvard Business Review. Then let the "Likes" rain in.
I deleted my account a couple of weeks ago after I realized it hasn't done a single thing for me but cause annoyance since I signed up.
unfortunately, dark patterns get results. most users won't notice or care.
No they get temporary results and push the negative effects elsewhere.
I fixed this by unsubscribing to all of their alerts. If something came through I just marked it as spam. At the next useless alert I promised myself to take some time to delete my account. Didn't come though.
I fixed this just deleting my account, this is the best solution.
I don't understand the image? Is the problem that they hide profile images from you and ask you to connect with people you can't see?
"Connect with a user" looks exactly like "Invite a friend to join LinkedIn" on purpose.
I mean who doesn't love all the unsolicited messages from recruiters though? Linked Sinners...
Well as freelancer I really wish we had another alternative, some of the contracts I got was through LinkedIn. I'm trying to use more angel.co but I'd be glad if someone came up with something else.
It's almost as annoying as constant and repetitive nagging about filling up my profile.
I had a salesperson contact me a couple of months ago. Their stats showed low engagement. I asked why and their response was, "We don't really feel engagement is a huge factor"...
