Admins should put a poll in place of the MOTD:
"Should we get rid of the MOTD?"
No! I find motd entertaining. I've seen very nice stuffs there...
I never look at it, but I imagine others might.
First person Ive ever seen with negative karma. Congrats.
I've seen at least 10. Usually new guys that don't know how much downvoting goes on.
The MOTD section is a lesson why downvoting should never be allowed for stories.
-1 here!
I was -14 for like a year.
Aww, but you're the best. I think it might be that I just don't ever look at people's profiles.
I am trying very hard to understand what the screenshot is about.
Also how does one submit to M.O.T.D.
Also what does the "m" stand for.
MOTD stands for "message of the day", which can be updated or changed at any time by DN members by pressing the edit button next to the down vote button.
Your access to contributing to things like the MOTD may be limited based on how long you've been a member and how much karma you have. It would be nice if these limitations were specifically outlined in the DN about page for new users.
That said, your question is completely valid, Alec.
Ya, I saw an edit button and I'm like cool maybe you submit something and the admins choose. I was wrong
Why was this so heavily downvoted?
Congrats :)
But you're not in the list if hall of shame yet. Try harder next time :)
That's why Facebook has only "Like" button.
