It should rather have "Unpopular Photos" section instead of popular ones. Designers usually try to avoid using photos that are all over the web.
I actually really like this mainly because it has an "all-mighty" search function.

This site, http://thestocks.im, which was posted last week, has everything from Pexels and a few other sites. Definitely worth bookmarking. :)
But with Pexels you only have to search on one site for free photos. On thestocks.im you have to check a dozen of small websites without a search and only a few photos. Pexels hand-picks the best photos from many reliable sources like Unsplash, Gratisography and Co. This way you only have to check one site.
So.. go to Pexels if you want less content. Makes sense.
All these stock photos are annoyingly faceless
Maybe check out the popular photos or use the search to find a appropriate photo.
