Interesting that they took the opportunity to use the old, colourful Apple logo at the end.
I never understood putting tacky stickers on such beautiful machines.
Agreed, however I must say I like these: http://www.macstix.com
It is just a machine... Stickers are fun and when you work in a office full of macbook's its helpful to be able to pick yours out easily.
I think 'just a machine' is correct at one level, but misses the point at another. It's not just a machine when it's yours. That individual identification is very central to Apple's product architecture.
Saying those stickers are tacky is a bit harsh IMHO. Different people have different tastes, and that's what personalization is all about.
It helps me tell mine apart from the 20 other ones around me.
From the marketing side though I think this is because Apple sells their products as a lifestyle brand. They usually just show how well their products fit you and now they are showing how you can add personality to them. I think it works well.
Right on. This page is not for designers with a life-long Apple crush, it's for regular customers that want something to relate to their life.
When you work in an enviroment like bay area everyone has Macs. Every coffee shop is MacBook pros. After a while a plain macbook just looks boring. Stickers show your style.
If you live in an area where Macbook is still a status symbol I can see how stickers might seem tacky.
I love seeing stickers on macs here.

...how do you, how do you buy the Homer Simpson one?
The agency where I work makes those since ages: http://www.stickwithmebaby.com/
Anyone coming to Barcelona can msg me and I give those for free :)
Surprised nobody is posting their own stickers :)
This is the only one I have at the moment ... my old MacBook was covered with startup swag. Decided to keep it simple this time
I did the exact same thing! http://cl.ly/image/161y2b240D1A
Such a hypebeast...

;)
Those are not just random hype stickers. Either apple did their research - or they grabbed a laptop from somebody at Girl/Chocolate.
Right! They seriously have some goodies on there, Supreme, Mad Decent, UNDFTD. I always like to imagine Apple dumping the money into research for something like that, but a lot of designers are into streetwear/skate culture so wouldn't be surprised if it was an Apple designer.
Now I really want to know whose laptop it was or whose sticker box they raided.
Let's find out!
Yeah they really gone to town on this one, I only have the Supreme box on mine, like that supermarket feel it has.
I dig. Give your toolbox a little personality..
Interesting to see that they included shots of some beat up /worn / loved computers in the montage.
Pikachu!
Here's mine!
it's not so much about not wanting to show the apple logo, but it's the backlight that annoys me at night.
grovemade bamboo back for me
I like this, it seems like some effort to close the distance between the more esoteric ethos of design that characterized the Jobs era and the people who use that design. This feels like another small break from the past and another piece of the Cook era.
Whoever picked out the music for the commercial has great taste imo. Big fan of Hudson Mohawke & TNGHT!
what's up with all the slightly modified band logos?
Here's mine
These are horrible. Apple kill yourself.
Relax.
