I'm about to trial a stand-up desk too. I'd question having the screen at that height though?
I'm in the process of creating a stand to get the laptop at an adjustable level, at the moment it's just a nice way to break up all the sitting!

Yeah, they're great. I wish I had something smaller now, especially without the room treatment of my last space. Curious to hear the Genelec M030's.

I have pretty much the same setup, but decided to place my HS80s on a stand. They would radiate way too much heat and I also felt claustrophobic with those things in front of me. Nice setup!
Yeah, I used to have them on stands too but switched to Recoil Stabilizers a few years ago. The sound isolation is good, but I agree that the HS80's are a little cumbersome. I'll probably swap them out for something smaller later this year.

Do you work in Åre or remotely? Since I live in Stockholm, living in a remote part of Sweden has always enticed me but it's easier to find work in Stockholm.
Make yourself indispensable at work, then they will let you work remotely.
I was working in Stockholm when I decided I wanted to live closer to the nature (or to be exact: closer to the DH trails), so I decided to move to Åre. I took this decision before speaking to my boss. I had a meeting with my boss where I handed in my resignation - it hadn't even crossed my mind asking if I could work remotely. Later that day he came back to me asking me if I would be interested in working remotely. Done deal!
Do what you want, while you can. It's a cliche, but a damn true one. Givet it a try, rent out your apartment and give it a go for 6 months, a year or something similar. Sure, it can suck and you might realize that it wasn't for you, but then you know. Otherwise you'll spend a year wondering what it would be like pursuing your dreams. It's only a year of your life...

P.S. If Åre is place you could see yourself living in (I highly recommend it) I would check with Nord Interactive (they have offices in both Stockholm and Åre) and [Hjärta](http://hjartat.net/ "Hjärta).
Thanks for the tips, not sure if it's something I want to do (at least not right now when my girlfriend is still studying) but very interesting to hear about your experiences nonetheless.

I keep it pretty simple at home.
2011 iMac + Retina MBP At this point I mostly use the iMac as an external display. Misc stuff from IKEA
Wow, my setup is so similar! Less simple for sure, but I think we have the same desk, and we definitely have the Harman Kardon Soundsticks, which are excellent!
It ended up being way more "sleek" and white than I'd usually care for, but I found the ikea desk and shelf unit at the same salvation army for super cheap, and I just moved in a month ago and had to get something (that's also why my walls are pretty bare at the moment).

The espresso is the most important part.

It is. My neck loves me for buying it. Only minus is that it's too big to bring with me when I'm at the main office to work with our developers

Wade Garrett, 9 years ago Rather than cough up too much money I spontaneously went to Lowe's and decided to build my own desk, and some how I didn't mess it up. The supplies for the desktop set me back <$40 and I just put some new legs on 'er a few days ago that I bought from IKEA for $20.

Here's mine, I've swapped out the table top for one made of oak and changed mouse pad since I took the photo though.

Kinda messy and a terrible photo but you get the idea. Made the desk myself. It's 8 feet long and 3.5 feet wide.
3 More guitars and a 4x12 speaker cab in another room.
I'm Spoiled!
I would post mine, but I don't have pictures of it. Imagine a IKEA Galant Corner-desk-left birch veener colour, HP 32" screen in the corner, Logitech X-540, MBP 13" 2011, and LED strip around the edge of the desk. And of course my OCD for perfect cable management

…moved into this place 5 months ago, and still haven’t managed to decorate the walls!
(I’ve been thinking about making some sound absorption panels, and hanging those alongside some framed art.)
