Really well written, I want to start rowing! I made the decision to quit my job last week, got two months to go.
It's always a hard choice to quit and you always need to think first, and keep a good relation with your previous employer.
Absolutely, Kuto! Making a decision like that means that one needs to push hard to the very last day. Employers will really appreciate that. I am glad you want to row. Best (and worst hah) sport ever. Saw a deer the other day during my morning row. She was following me, I think she wanted to play a game of tag. Let me know if you're looking for rowing blogs, training programs, etc. I'd be happy to help.
I'm based in Geneva so there's a lake but no club here, more clubs in other smaller cities across the lake. So I have to relocate.
I want to do this sport also because I can't ski anymore (leg operation...) I cycle, run but had to stop ski and judo.
I'm trying to push hard but I'm also thinking and working a lot (at home) for my new freelancer career, it's two months of transition and it's not that funny. It's like waiting for the doctor at the hospital haha.
Wow, this article is absolutely fantastic. To be honest my eyes started welling up a little it was so moving. Good work.
I'm humbled, thank you for the words.
Really fantastic article Ricardo -- very timely for me!
The link piqued my interest due to an issue I've been wrestling with lately. That said, a bigger sign was that yesterday I took the first steps to find a rowing club to join here in Toronto!
Beautiful article -- thanks for the two-fold inspiration :)
Get out! Which club? I'm at Don Rowing Club in Mississauga. Awesome Gavin :)
That's awesome! I had checked out the Don Rowing Club online but it's a little bit of a trek for me. Currently I'm eyeing the Learn to Row programs at both Hanlan and Bayside Rowing Club :) Your article was that extra push I needed!
Great article. Keep the posts coming!
