Would any of you consider buying this? This idea of a bundle of UI elements sold on the cheap doesn't sit right with me. It's like going to the grocery store and buying a bunch of prepared meals, then coming home and adding parsley and saying it's yours.

I'm not a visual designer by background. My focus is typically on the bigger picture/business context where the visual design takes place. The projects I'm on usually succeed or fail based on getting the context right more so than getting the visual design right. That being said, our agency has a ton of awesome visual designers, so I usually don't have to spend a lot of time on a project perfecting the visual design. I ended up buying the V2 wireframe kit last week & it has already saved me tons of time.

I think there is a clear trend right now around using design to solve business problems and I think a lot of these UI templates reflect that trend. There's always going to be a need for custom design, but we have to be honest with ourselves (and our clients) when we know a templated design would be the better solution for certain contexts.

Just look at the wordpress theme industry. There used to be real value in hiring someone to custom design/develop a wordpress theme. But then how many small businesses were charged out their ass for someone who has little to no design/development skills to buy a $30 theme and charge them thousands for their ignorance?

Only you can know the balance of where you land.
