I'm not opposed to it honestly. I find it fascinating. Then again, I have zero expectation of privacy on Facebook and they do need to be clear about their research.

As someone else in this thread said, it's safe to assume everything you put on Facebook is public. Because I use it in this way, I have no complaints.

I've always been skeptical about Facebook. Glad I deactivated my account a long time ago

When I run a website I want to measure everything I can. Facebook does the same, just in a amazingly larger and deeper scale.

Companies do this all. the. time. At least Facebook published the results.

Imagine the type of stuff some advertising and marketing companies do to test our behaviours and reactions. I'm sure Google, Apple and a large amount of other corporation are all doing similar things. At least we get to see the results of this research and use it to make better products ourselves.
