Having a static height makes responsive design impossible. This is an old technique from and old static world

Clean and Modern, I guess. Works, and is useful in 99% of builds. Not so much.

That solution works. I've used it in the past. His problem is that he has relative on the wrapper.

Nope, turning relative off makes it even less sticky, as seen in this gif: https://i.cloudup.com/OEvaWHBHG3.gif

(to makes things sticky you'll need a "fixed" in there somewhere, which he is missing)

There seems to be some confusion in "Sticky", which is cool as the post doesn't really explain it well and sticky refers to so. many. things. in. web. Like seriously, can we think of another adjective? Anyway, sticky, in this case, means flushed with the bottom of the page, not window, regardless of content. Oftentimes you build your template for the site and then one page has like 5 words in it. This is an annoying problem, especially if your footer is a different color than your page background. What happens is your footer is in the vertical middle of the page. This code makes sure that doesn't happen.
