Tim and Nathan taught this class to a couple of us designers at Facebook a few months ago, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
I went from knowing zero Objective-C, to feeling like I could build an app all by myself, in just 6 weeks. It's an intensive class with a lot of work expected from you, but it's absolutely worth it.
I actually took these classes and I can easily say that it was one of the most important things I've ever done for my career.
That's awesome to hear, you should stop by and mentor some of the new teams :)
pretty jealous of people in SF for this…
SF is pretty crazy when it comes to things like this, hopefully you can get access to some online materials like this for example http://guides.thecodepath.com/ios/Introduction-to-iOS-for-Designers or http://designcode.io/.
Im thinking about doing live hangout office hours to help those remotely. I know how hard it can be after teaching myself, w/ help from a few people in SF & Codepath
That would be awesome, I'm going to pick up design code.io today. Thanks!
+1 for Seattle!
Awesome! I got in for this session, can't wait to start building.
Joe - Thanks for posting this!
I applied and was accepted. Working on the first (pre-class) project now. Really stoked to be building my first app.
That sounds great, no problem at all!
Yeah, I wish someone was kind enough to do something like this in London. Screw it, everywhere!
Do we need to have any previous programming knowledge to take the class?
I wouldn't let that discourage you from applying, any bit helps though!
Just signed up! Thanks for posting this. Would have never come across this otherwise :)
Same here found out about them from a friend who saw them on Techcrunch a bit ago
I've met the guys that are teaching these courses. You'll learn how to use Interface builder which is basically Storyboard without the segues and multiple screens. Same objects. It's a very approachable course for designers.
Hoping to bring that pixel perfection I've learned from your book to these courses.
By the way I just bought your book :P
That's fantastic! I'm amazed at how many people were interested in the book. Took me hours to reply to everyone. :)
I wish something like this ran in LA... I have been wanting to take part in this class for months.
Hopefully one day :)
