You know, just the other day I saw a site that used a magnifying-glass icon to initiate product zoom ins. At first, I was confused as to why it didn't search and thought to myself that it was a stupid choice of icon. Then I realized that I was retarded. This, of course, doesn't excuse the site's weird choice of icons.
