What's your favourite Movie?
Memento and Donnie Darko are pretty high up my list.
Have you seen "Requiem for a Dream"?
Yes, saw it just a few months ago! Even though it's excellent, it's a little too heavy for me — I tend to not rewatch those many more times.
Eternal Sunshine, although if we're talking 'rewatchable', Goodfellas,
or Crazy Stupid Love.
If we're talking rewatchable, I go with Oceans 11 and Princess Bride.
Hard to say, but probably:
Difficult question :).
And so on, and so on. It's impossible to choose only one.
It's tough for me to decide, but a few that are definitely up there for me:
Finally watched The Wackness last year. So good. Great picks.
Thanks :) having grown up watching Josh Peck on Nickelodeon, it's cool to see him breaking out of that kind of role.
The Fall is by far the best movie I've ever watched.
The visual effects, places, Lee Pace, the dialogues... Everything was awesome and inspiring.
The Fall is tough to beat but another couple visually stunning movies include: The Fountain and Sunshine.
Seen any of them?
I'd say 'Lost in Translation', oh let's make it three favourites 'Blade Runner' and 'The Double Life of Veronique'.
'The Double Life of Veronique' is a great movie, from a great director.
I have never heard of 'The Double Life of Veronique'.
Gonna have to check it out.
Yeah, please do it's something else. Basically the movie pursues the concept of having a doppelgänger, an identical person who shares your life experiences through a bond of some kind. I won't get into details but it's exquisitely made with a beautiful score accompanying it.
If you like it, I'd also recommend watching the 'Three Colors' trilogy by the same director, especially Red and Blue.
I don't have only 1 favorite movie :)
Here is my 10 point list: http://www.imdb.com/user/ur22141637/ratings?start=1&view=detail&sort=your_ratings:desc&defaults=1&my_ratings=restrict&scb=0.9458569732960314
The link redirects to my own 10 point list ;)
Oh, just realized that, sorry :)
There is now way to link my 10 points on iMDb but here is my ratings list: http://www.imdb.com/user/ur22141637/ratings
City of God and Donnie Darko
Adaptation.
I have a few, don't think I could pick just one:
Most recently, I absolutely adored Her
Edward Scissorhands. About a Boy. American Beauty. The Man From Nowhere.
http://letterboxd.com/bradenhamm
My favorite of 2013 are:
Gravity (best theater experience of my life). Her (my desired vision of the future).
I love The Man From Nowhere. Gravity was also the best theater experience eve, I imagine that the movie looses a lot of his impact outside a movie theater
Came in here to say "In Bruges" Pleasantly surprised to see that it's been mentioned already!
Anything with Steven Seagal.
Into the wild
UP :)
Fight Club
Close competitors: Trainspotting, La Science des Rêves, 2001: A Space Odissey, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Godfather II.
Top few are:
Like the others, I don't have one favourite movie. But my favourites are The Social Network (so motivating) SENNA, Truth in 24, Le Mans (big motorsport fan).
Children of Men.
That would be Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066921/
The last good movie I recently gave a 10 on IMDB is the Senna documentary: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1424432/
+1. Great documentary.
For me it's "Her" - Spike jonze
Monsters Inc, Life Is Beautiful, LOTR trilogy,
Le Fils (The Son) by the Dardenne brothers.
A fantastic plot centered on the relationship between a teacher and his troubled apprentice. Really the less you know the better.
Favorite of all time: The Usual Suspects.
Other top favorites:
Just one? The Matrix. Or Serenity. Or Rockman EXE: The Bequeathed Program of Light and Darkness.
Hmm, Ghost in the Shell? I can't just pick one!
top 5 in no particular order: Lion King, Commando, Equilibrium, Dumb and Dumber, Blood Sport
Damn, shouldn't have looked into this post, now I have tons more of movies to watch.
Same as many others, I don't have a favorite movie, but American History X, Nacho Libre and Fantastic Mr. Fox are on top of my list.
I Vitelloni by Fellini
Donnie Darko, Garden State, Requiem for a Dream, City of God, El Orfanato (The Orphanage), Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Se7en... and... well... just so many more!
City of God is so, so, so good.
It is, it reaaallllyyyyyy is. Oh, and I forgot one: American History X. AMAZING film.
It's hard to pick a favourite, but I liked Richard Ayoade's Submarine a lot. Fantastic art direction
probably khabi khushi khabie gham http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0248126/ Love that movie. (epic bollywood comedy drama about love, family etc etc...great music, great dance scenes etc....)
have lots of other favs, but thats one i keep coming back to....
probably my other fav of all time would be "kelly's heroes" ww2 comedy with an all star cast (clint eastwood, donald sutherland etc etc) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065938/
Probably a tie between Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Avengers (I grew up SUCH a comic book nerd that watching them nail that whole movie on the big screen and at the scale that they did just fills me with utter glee).
I don't have one favourite movie. Some of my favourites are City of God, American Gangster, LOTR, Gravity, The Departed and The Godfather
