You guys are correct in saying that everyone feels some sort of ineptitude when discovering kick-ass work someone else has posted on the 'Net. It's both incredibly dream-crushing and humbling. When I was younger (hah! I'll be 26 in 2 months), I thought I was the shit and quickly learned I wasn't.
I, like you guys, started to get serious about my own work recently and no longer care what everyone else is doing. Sure, I feel a pang of jealousy when I see my friends do something awesome and then get hired by great companies, but that makes me work harder.
Quite honestly, I'm feeling the need to work for myself and I hope to make the jump this year. I'm so focused now, especially after listening to this episode...I just need to get better. (:
