Ask DN: Thoughts on Edge Reflow?

over 9 years ago from , Developer at Spatie

Is anywhere here using Reflow for prototyping? Wondering why it isn't getting that much attention.

And for those of you using it, how does it fit into your workflow? What do you especially like or dislike about it?

i personally really like it, but haven't been able to truly make it part of my workflow yet... i guess after all these years, it's becoming really hard to break out of the photoshop workflow...

I don't mind it. It's a bit strange to get used to but I think it's got some potential.

I've been testing whether or not it would be useful for non-developers to create responsive wireframes.

What I'd really like to see is the responsive toolkit in Reflow incorporated into a proper design tool like Sketch. Right now Reflow is an add-on and depends on visual design assets made in another app, and unless that app is Photoshop you basically have to re-build your design from scratch when moving from one to the other.

Well that's the whole purpose of the adobe suite. That's how they lock you in. Dependency on other apps to create a workflow supported by adobe apps. ;)

BTW i just started using reflow today, and it's pretty neat. Surprised it doesn't receive more attention. This could easily cater to those people that want to keep their photoshop workflow yet bridge some of that gap between a designer and a developer. I like it.
