Hi, I am looking for some resources (books, articles, blogs, anything!) about the product design behind tools used by developers. Mainly IDEs or text editors, an example being VSCode, Pycharm or something browser based like repl.it. It's a pretty big niche and I was not able to find much. Do you happen to know of any?

You should definitely check out Panic's web site, especially if your dev tools need to work on mobile. Although they don't really talk about product design much on their blog, they do have screen shots of their apps, including their current work in progress, Nova.
