Juicy Mail - a brand new type of email experience (juicymail.co)

Please, please, please learn from Google Inbox. So many new email clients come out claiming to be a new way to do email, and in the end they are almost all identical in general layout (three columns!) and features.
Google Inbox actually refined the email management experience, it didn't just add a million ways to view and search stuff. For example when I pinned/starred items and then archived the grouping they were in, only the non-pinned items got archived. Of course Gmail did not implement this when Inbox shut down and now Gmail is a shitshow.
Another one is grouping items by date instead of just having this impenetrable infinite list. It was nice being able to scan everything I got in the last week and archive it quickly, it narrowed down the cognitive load of what I had to look at before making the decision to pin, archive, reply, etc.
It continues to boggle my mind that company after company fail at actually improving email when Google Inbox had it right for years already (and were not just targeting business users!).
100% agreed!
That is very true! There are way too many email clients that do the same thing. Actually, that was the motivation behind Juicy Mail in the first place. Talking about email management, our goal is to turn it into a breeze (instead of treating it like hard work). In fact, the only similarities we have with the traditional email is the already familiar 3 column layout - which is just one of the views we offer. This way everyone can personalize the app to match their preferences.
We find your feedback very important! Thanks for this, Mattan! We will also be reaching out to everyone within the next few weeks to make sure we're tackling all the issues you might have. If you have any other feedback until then, feel free to reach out.
All the best, Roman
Is this an Electron/Web app or native?
Hello Marco, Thanks for your question! It's an Electron app.
All the best, Roman
what a shame, a no-buy for me :(
Sad to hear! There're advantages and disadvantages to all options, but we decided to go electron for now. Hopefully, once you try it out in the future, you will change your mind. For now, thanks for your honest feedback, Emski!
All the best, Roman
This looks awesome.. love the website and the animations and the product looks very exciting. Signed up for early access :)
Hello Michael, Appreciate it and thanks for signing up! We've been working hard on it and we love seeing your feedback :)
All the best, Roman
Nicely done. I believe the question that matters most is: what's the ideal audience of early adopters? We recently did a case study on Superhuman so I can't help but to ask myself if the inbox-zero-exec-power-user is the persona targeted by Juicy as well at this stage…
Hey Dan, Sorry for the late response.
Great question! No, the ideal audience for Juicy Mail at this point are Designers, Developers, Freelancers, Product managers - people that receive a diverse amount of emails in their inbox. We will have power-user features, like shortcuts, out of the box though, we just don’t hype about it :D
Btw, I’ve read the case study - awesome content! Big fan and a loyal subscriber :D
Looks great, I signed up too!
Are you actually giving the early access to people? I signed up to a competitive product of yours months ago (coincidentally also starting with J) and never got an invite.. Just not sure how it works in such projects like this, and want to have realistic expectations ;)
Hey Tom, Thanks for signing up! Yes, we will make sure to provide early access, once the beta version is ready. Currently, Juicy Mail is still under development and not yet ready for the beta release. High quality is a priority for us, even for the beta version. We will keep you updated on the progress via email thought :) Thank you for the question!
All the best, Roman
This looks very promising, any more info regarding the app? I did a quick research and couldn't find more information or social presence! I would love to be part of the early access.
Hello Thanasis, Thanks a lot for the good words! Up until this point we’ve been focusing on the product itself, ignoring all kinds of publicity or social media. We’ll keep you updated about the process via email and will make sure you’re one of the first beta users, once beta is available. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact us through the form on the website or here :)
All the best, Roman
