Maybe Popmotion Pose principles can propagate to other animation frameworks, it would make animation handoff so much easier.

I had the same journey: in the end it was simply easier to code the animation in CSS and demo that to the developers. I think if i had to get JS involved outside of class toggles (for CSS to use) it wouldn’t have worked well.

React has also made this trickier, too, since CSS is element-level and often animation requires child and parent selectors.

It's the new trend. Instead of actually designing a product, just talk. I bet you've just saw a random dribble animation and forced the developer you're working with to do it. After your developer tells you the truth I'm guessing you've started to blame the developers skill set. typical.

Animation can't be 'handed off'. It's either simulated, developed or prototyped. it's pretty normal some digital assets delivered to devs this way. Life is not just a shortcut button to zeplin.
