Exactly this. In the web industry, anyone calling themselves an expert in a field that isn't dead or very rapidly dying is a liar haha. There's no conceivable way to keep up with all the solutions to problems out there, and no point when the answers are a quick search away.

For me, an expert in the industry is someone specialised in a narrow field, not someone who inherently knows more about a subject than anyone else.
